Climate Change

In this 21st century our descendants have a most important issue to deal with--Climate Change.
There is a possibility that economies may crumble. Even civilization, as we know it, could disintegrate unless we learn to control "greenhouse-gas" emissions. Global warming is already affecting our world and our daily lives.

People are over-reacting. It's been getting warmer since the ice-age.

People may be over-reacting but the warming is taking place faster than predicted.

There is unequivocal evidence that global warming is effecting our planet. There is no doubt that the arctic glaciers are melting at an alarming rate, and that their melting is threatening species, changing weather patterns, and altering global economies.

Whether or not "humans" are the cause of global warming it is an issue that is being debated by the world's best and brightest. What we need to do is to stop listening to the extreme ends of the spectrum. The media loves the "doomsday" story because it sells. Right wing politicians like to play down global warming because their backer's profits are at stake.

Economies may improve because the North will be opened up which could improve globalization and expand our search for natural resources. The economy is already starting to adapt. Most companies have "green" policies and are becoming more environmentally friendly.

There are a lot of unknown impacts. It would be irresponsible to ignore these potential impacts. Let's sift through the narrow media messages and start thinking about our collective future.
